umm… hi.
I have a 9 yr old long hair Chinook. He is in perfect health except for the hip dysplasia. The Vet suggested surgery but I don’t believe in quick fixes. If there are natural supplements/food alternative, pleae let me know. I have added a few supplement to his food and it seems to be working a little bit but I am sure there must be others.
I have a dog who’s roughly 11 years old. He’s a mix between chow, lab, & pitt bull. He’s an inside dog, so I know he’s not been in a fight or anything like that, but for the past two days, he’s struggled to get up. He lies in the floor and I have to bring him food and water. When I try to help him get up, he cries – very loudly – so I leave him alone. I have read articles about hip dysplasia in dogs and for the most part my understanding is they typically get it when they are puppies. I have never noticed him limping around for no apparent reason. The vet told me he had arthiritis, but I can’t imagine arthiritis getting to a dog this way. What are the chances he’s developed hip dysplacia over the past couple of years?
my dog is a 8 year old German shepherd. his hips are really bad. he has a really hard time getting up, and when hes walking sometimes, his back legs will just fall. you can feel the ball of the hip out of place.also he has been pooing a lot in the house. two days ago he did it in the middle of the night, this morning all in the dinning room. i don’t know if it is a age thing or is he just sick. please help. and if anyone knows braces for dogs with hip problems, send the link to. thank you.
I have a 7 month of St Bernard. He has bad hips AKA hip dysplasia(HD). His right is severe, his left is moderate/mild. Any tips, tricks, or any advice would be greatly appreciated. He doesnt show signs of pain at this point. He just favors one leg slightly when he walks and his hips “clack” together when we were training him to sit. When we would push on his hind end, you could feel and hear the bones “clack” when you pressed down. I am against surgery unless absolutely necessary.(they want to break the pelvis in several places) I am looking for anyone who has been through this recently. Anyone who may know anything about alternative medicine for animals. Acupuncture, herbs, suppliments, or therapy and where to get these things for animals. Any other suggestions will be a great help, no matter if its main stream or alternative. I’m just looking for all the options out there. Thank you.
I just found out recently that my 1 year old hound/beagle mix has pretty severe hip dysplasia in both hips and he is developing arthritis already. He has a consultation with a surgeon comeing up, but I was wondering if anyone can give their personal experiences after the surgery? Like what to expect, best types of physical therapy etc. He is not a big dog, he is only 43 pounds and he is full grown. He is very active so he does not have any weight problems.
